Alexandra Yangel

Alexandra Yangel (* 1992 in Moscow ) is a Russian violinist and mezzo-soprano .

Career

Alexandra Yangel received violin lessons from Galina Turchaninova since she was five. In 2011, at the age of 19, she finished her studies in violin at the Moscow State Conservatory in the class of Irina Bochkova with honors. She then studied singing with Irina Dolzhenko at the Bolshoi Theater . In 2013 she moved to the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna and began studying singing with Elena Filipova.

In 2014 Yangel became a member of the international organization Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now in Vienna. In the summer of the same year she was a participant in the singing academy with Silvana Bartoli at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad . She made her debut in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory with the Kremlin Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Misha Rachlevsky . From 2017, Yangel was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera for two seasons . In 2019 she sang at the Teatro Petruzzelli in spring and at the Verbier Festival in summer . For the following season 2019/20 Yangel made guest appearances at the Theater Aachen .

Yangel was invited to the Songbook (ORF, Austria) and Montreal International Musical Competition (2018) competitions. In addition, she took part in master classes with Jewgeni Nesterenko , Vesselina Kasarova , Thomas Quasthoff , Thomas Hampson , Barbara Frittoli , Anatoly Goussev , Silvana Bartoly and Stephan Rügamer .
