Alexandre Aubert
Alexandre Aubert (born May 20, 1979 in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges , France ) is a former French biathlete .
Alexandre Aubert lives in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and starts for Douanes Saint-Gervais . He has been practicing biathlon since 1995 and since 1998 as part of the French national team. A year later he made his international debut at the Junior World Championships in Pokljuka . In the sprint he was seventh here and sixth in the season. In 2001 he reached eleventh place in a sprint race in the European Cup in Ridnaun . Shortly afterwards he started at the European Championships in Haute-Maurienne where he achieved eighth place in the sprint as the best place. A year later in Kontiolahti , the best placement was a tenth relay place. Aubert then made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in Lahti . After a 53rd place in the sprint, he was 45th in the pursuit. In the next time he started alternately in the World and European Cup. In 2004 he came in a pursuit race in Ruhpolding as 23rd for the first time in the points.
2004/05 was Aubert's best season. Here he came under the top 20 four times. In Pokljuka he achieved his best World Cup result so far as 15th. Due to the very good season, Aubert qualified for the first time for the biathlon world championships . In Hochfilzen he started in the sprint (16th) and in the pursuit (33rd). The following season went less well, which is why he missed a start at the 2006 Olympic Games .
