Alexandre Kassin

Alexandre Kamal Kassin (* 1974 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian music producer , singer , composer and multi-instrumentalist . He himself is one of the well-known figures in the Brazilian avant-garde scene.

Career

Kassin founded the +2 group together with Moreno Veloso and Domenico Lancelotti . ("+2" stands for one plus two more) His early albums are characterized by rather difficult to digest, strange music. For example, he created an album based on the sounds of a Gameboy. It thus covers a broad spectrum of musical styles from tropical , electro-acoustic music to pieces that can be assigned to the garage house genre.

Kassin is the director of the Orquestra Imperial and works as a producer for acts like Bebel Gilberto and Marisa Monte .

In 2008, he composed the music for the anime - TV series Michiko to Hatchin that in a fictional, Brazil-inspired country.

Under his own name he released the albums "Free USA (Sob o pseudônimo de Artificial)" (2005), "Sonhando Devagar" (2011) and "Relax" (2018).
