Alexei Walentinowitsch Tschistjakow (born July 1, 1962 , in Leningrad ; † September 11, 2012 , in St. Petersburg ) was a Russian painter and artist of Abstract Expressionism .

biography

From 1978 to 1982 he studied at the St. Petersburg Tavricheskaya Art School in the restoration department . From 1984 to 1989 he studied at the Saint Petersburg Art and Industry Academy in the Faculty of Textile .

In the 1980s he worked as a restorer in the Hermitage Museum . From 1991 to 1992 he worked in Munich to create a series of works for three solo exhibitions in Germany and England. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Monumental Painting Department of the Russian Artists' Union and since 1993 a member of the Partnership for Free Culture in Pushkinskaya 10 .

From 1989 to 2012 the artist's studio was located in the legendary House of Artists at 10 Pushkinskaya in St. Petersburg. His works are in the collection of the Russian Museum and in private collections in Russia, Germany, America, Australia and Nepal.

The artist's creative legacy includes more than 300 paintings, hundreds of sketches for the images (in pencil and color), innovative theories and painting techniques.

Alexei Chistyakov died on September 11, 2012 in his apartment on Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg. He is buried in the Smolensk Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
