Alexei Gerassimez
Alexej Gerassimez (* 1987 in Essen ) is a German percussionist and composer . His repertoire includes classical , new music , jazz , minimal music and his own compositions. Like his brothers, the cellist Wassily Gerassimez and the pianist Nicolai Gerassimez, he comes from a family of musicians. In 2012 he released his first CD. Since November 2017 he has been professor of drums at the University of Music and Theater Munich , where he took over the position of his teacher Peter Sadlo , who died in 2016 . He is a visiting professor at the Birmingham Conservatoire .
In 2016 he won the music prize of the Association of German Concert Directors , in 2014 the 2nd prize in the field of drums at the ARD International Music Competition and the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition.
