Alexei Konstantinowitsch Puschkow ( Russian Алексей Константинович Пушков , scientific transliteration Aleksej Konstantinovič Puškov; born August 10, 1954 in Beijing , People's Republic of China ) is a Russian foreign politician and chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the State Duma . Pushkov is also head of the Russian PACE delegation. He is also the editor-in-chief and moderator of the weekly political magazine Postscriptum , broadcast on the TWZ station .

Pushkov holds a doctorate in political science and is the director of the Institute for Current International Problems at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Positions

Pushkov is known for his sharp and often polemical criticism of European and American politics.

He commented in mid-June 2013 at the decision of the US president , to supply weapons to the Syrian opposition , the information on the application of chemical weapons by the regime of Assad had been fabricated, where the lie about weapons of mass destruction conjured in Iraq ( Russian тиражироваться ). In this context, Pushkov also stated that Obama was following Bush's path .
