Alfons Braun

Alfons Braun (born December 10, 1940 in Marxheim ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Braun attended elementary school in Marxheim and the Donauwörth vocational school . He was an assistant in his parents' farm. In 1959 he joined the Bavarian riot police in Munich , followed by an employment course for the middle police force with a subsequent examination. In 1963 he became a police officer at the state police station in Donauwörth. After a promotion test for the senior police enforcement service, he was promoted to police inspector, most recently he was deputy head of the Donauwörth state police station.

In 1966 Braun was elected as the youngest member of the Donauwörth district assembly. In 1972 he was re-elected to the district council, this time for the new district of Donau-Ries , where he was a member of various committees. Also in 1972 he was elected to the city council of Donauwörth , since then he has been chairman of the SPD city council group. He was also chairman of the SPD district association Donau-Ries and deputy chairman of the sub-district of Northern Swabia. From 1974 to 1984 Braun was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament , then from 1984 to 2002 he was district administrator of the Donau-Ries district.

In 2009, Braun was sentenced to a suspended sentence before the Augsburg Regional Court “for particularly serious infidelity”.
