Alfons Prince

Alfons Fürst (born November 11, 1961 in Neudorf , today Grafenau ) is a Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Fürst studied Classical Philology and Catholic Theology at the University of Regensburg from 1982 to 1989 . His habilitation father was Norbert Brox . In his trial lecture in the appointment procedure for the Chair of Ancient Church History , Patrology and Christian Archeology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , he dealt with ethical aspects of the eschatology of Origen in 1998 . Since 2000, Fürst has been Professor of Ancient Church History, Patrology and Christian Archeology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster. From 2008 to 2010 he was dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty. Alfons Fürst is a proven expert on Origen and co-editor of the works of the church writer with German translation. He founded the Origen Research Center , which opened on October 24, 2008, and is editor of the Adamantiana series - Texts and Studies on Origen and his Legacy . For Prince Origen is the "founder of Christian philosophy" as well as the "founder of the philosophy of freedom".

Fürst is married and has three children.
