Alfons J. Weichenrieder

Alfons J. Weichenrieder (born February 18, 1964 in Munich ) is Professor of Public Finance at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . His main areas of work are in the field of international corporate taxation and fiscal structures in Europe.

Scientific career

Alfons J. Weichenrieder received his doctorate in 1995 with a thesis on "Taxation and Direct Investment" at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he completed his habilitation there in 2001 on the subject of "Fiscal Federalism and European Integration". In 2002 he was appointed professor of public finance at the Goethe University in Frankfurt .

From October 1, 2009 until the 2011/2012 winter semester, he was dean of the department. After the two-year legislative period, he was replaced by Prof. Hackethal . In the current dean team, Weichenrieder is responsible for the departmental finances.

He is program director of the master’s programs in International Economics and Economic Policy and Money and Finance, managing editor of the journal FinanzArchiv , co-editor of the journal International Tax and Public Finance , visiting professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business , research professor at the Ifo Institute in Munich and member of the scientific advisory board at the Federal Ministry of the Finances .
