Alfons Klein (administrative officer)

Alfons Klein (born June 8, 1909 in Frickhofen ; † March 14, 1946 in Bruchsal ) was an official who was involved in the T4 campaign and the subsequent decentralized euthanasia in the Hadamar killing center .

Klein was a trained dairy assistant. At 1930 he acquired membership in the NSDAP and SA . In 1934 he was employed in the administration of the Hadamar State Hospital. In the second phase of the murders during the Nazi era , Klein rose to become administrative director of the institution in 1942, making him the main organizer of the murders that were carried out through starvation, pills or injections.

After his arrest, he was tried before the American military tribunal in Wiesbaden. He was charged with the murder of Polish and Soviet slave labor. On October 15, 1945, Klein was sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out on March 14, 1946 in the Bruchsal correctional facility .

Allied military tribunals only prosecuted crimes against their own citizens and those of their allied states.
