Alfons Kotowski (born August 14, 1899 ; † September 29, 1944 in Warsaw , Poland ) was a major in the Polish Home Army (Polish Armia Krajowa , AK for short ).

Kotowski (code name "Okoń") took part in the Second World War as an officer in the Polish army and fought against the Wehrmacht during the German invasion of Poland in September 1939 . After the suppression of the Polish troops, he joined armed Polish combat groups until he finally joined the Home Army.

From July 1944 he fought against the German occupiers as the leader of the "Pięść" battalion. In the Warsaw Uprising he was the leader of the "Kampinos" group and was involved in numerous skirmishes.

Kotowski was killed in battle in the battle of Jaktorów in the Masovian Voivodeship .

Postmortem he was awarded the high order Virtuti Militari of the Republic of Poland for his services in combat .
