Alfred-Auguste Cuvillier-Fleury (born March 18, 1802 in Paris , † October 18, 1887 ) was a French writer and journalist .

Life

Cuvillier-Fleury studied at the Collège Louis-le-Grand and was secretary to the King of Holland, Ludwig Bonaparte , for two years , whom he followed into exile, later educator of the young Henri d'Orléans, duc d'Aumale and took over in 1834 the editing of the " Journal des Débats ", in which he advocated the cause of the July monarchy to the end. In 1866 the Académie française elected him to succeed the late André Dupin ( Fauteuil 35 )
