Create

Alfred Birnschein: Dynamic Action (1983)

After the war had lost all of the works he had created up to that point, Alfred Birnschein first worked on his personal war experiences in his pictures, e. B. Triumph of Death , 1948, Destroyed Blast Furnace , 1950, where he preferred to paint in oil. Later he also experimented with acrylic paints and increasingly preferred mixed media for his works. The degree of abstraction in his pictures and collages increased with increasing age, and cubist and expressionist elements flowed more and more into his work. The preferred subjects in his pictures are landscapes, but also still lifes and depictions of people (often threatened by war).
