Alfred Flakowski (born July 25, 1872 in Ortelsburg , † 1942 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) was a German businessman.

He comes from a merchant family. His father ran a general store in which Alfred Flakowski completed his training. After his training, Alfred Flakowski was, among other things, department head in a department store in Berlin. At the age of 33 he moved to Brandenburg an der Havel. There he acquired the Conitzer department store , which he operated under the name Flakowski until his death in 1942 . The house was not destroyed during the war and was used as a department store until the 1990s.

Alfred Flakowski shaped the social life of Brandenburg with his commitment, for example in the local Masonic lodge and the society association. An upper school center in Brandenburg an der Havel has been named after him since 1997.

His son Horst Flakowski set up the Alfred Flakowski Foundation , which supports various child, youth and elderly care projects in the city of Brandenburg. The Flakowski department store was sold in 1992 for 10 million DM. With half of the proceeds he founded the aforementioned foundation in 1993. Horst Flakowski donated the family home to the foundation in 1995 as an endowment. The two-storey building was reconstructed for 1.3 million DM and converted into a meeting place ("House of Generations").
