Alfred Freiherr von Stockmar

Ernst Alfred Victor Freiherr von Stockmar (born July 8, 1876 in Buch am Forst , today in Lichtenfels (Upper Franconia) ; † November 30, 1953 there ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Stockmar was a son of the landlord and ducal chamberlain Carl Freiherr von Stockmar. He studied law in Heidelberg and Berlin and became a member of the Corps Vandalia in Heidelberg in 1895 . In 1900 he became a trainee lawyer, in 1906 a government assessor in Belzig, in 1907 at the police headquarters in Berlin, and in 1909 in Liegnitz. In 1915 he became a councilor in Liegnitz, in 1917 district administrator of the Osterode am Harz district , in 1919 administrator of the district office in Danziger Niederung and in 1921 a government councilor in Merseburg . In 1934 he came to the High Presidium in Magdeburg, where he was promoted to the Upper Government Council in 1936.

Stockmar was the manor owner on Obersteinau and a ducal Saxon chamberlain. In 1918/1919 he was a member of the provincial parliament in Hanover.
