Alfred Gesswein

Alfred Gesswein (born January 6, 1911 in Hungarian Altenburg ; † May 13, 1983 in Vienna ) was an Austrian poet , radio play author and graphic artist .

In his landscape and nature poetry, Alfred Gesswein dealt with fantastic motifs (1960s) as well as current environmental problems. He was editor of the literary yearbooks configurations (1965–72) and co-editor of the literary magazine Podium (1971ff.).

The Alfred Gesswein Literature Prize was named after him.
