Alfred Trebchen

Alfred Trebchen (born November 20, 1915 in Dölzig , Amtshauptmannschaft Leipzig ; † August 16, 2011 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After attending elementary school, Alfred Trebchen completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer . He was involved in the trade union from 1930 and also politically from 1931. During the Second World War , he served in the Air Force with flying personnel from 1936 to 1945 . He was taken prisoner by the French , from which he was released in 1947. He then worked in the labor administration as an employee from 1947 to 1953 . He took over the management of the ÖTV trade union ( ver.di since 2001 ) in Lüneburg .

Alfred Trebchen was active in a leading position in numerous committees and organizations. He worked in the sub-district of Lüneburg / Harburg as SPD chairman, was a board member of the Lower Saxony City Council , member of the administrative committee in the Lüneburg employment office, member of the district church council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lüneburg and member of the board of the Berlin-Dank association. In 1978 he received the Ring of Honor of the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg .

He was elected to the council of the city of Lüneburg in 1961 and was mayor, and since 1964 mayor . From May 20, 1963 to June 20, 1970 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament, in the 5th electoral period for the constituency of Lüneburg-Land and in the 6th electoral term for the constituency of Lüneburg-Stadt .
