Reinhold Kreitmeyer

Reinhold Kreitmeyer (born July 23, 1908 in Munich ; † February 16, 1996 in Freilassing ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Reform Realgymnasium in Munich , Kreitmeyer, who was a Protestant , joined the Reichswehr in 1928 as an officer candidate . During the Second World War , he became battalion commander of a machine gun association in 1940 and commander of the mountain hunter school in Mittenwald in 1942 . In 1944 he was promoted to colonel . Towards the end of the war he was taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1948. In the early 1960s he was the first speaker (= chairman) of the Lüneburg men's gymnastics club from 1848 . In this function he went on trips abroad to sport competitions.

Political party

Kreitmeyer joined the FDP in December 1948 . From 1951 to 1971 he was chairman of the FDP district association of Lüneburg , from 1961/62 and 1966 to 1969 he was chairman of the FDP city association of Lüneburg.

MP

Kreitmeyer was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1951 to 1957, where he was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in 1955/56. From 1952 to 1972 he was also a councilor in Lüneburg . Kreitmeyer was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 to 1965. He was drawn into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list.

Public offices

Kreitmeyer was Lord Mayor of the City of Lüneburg in 1954/55 . From 1956 he was a senator there.
