Alfred Gilch
Alfred Gilch (born June 11, 1918 ; † October 15, 2013 ) was a German headmaster and ministerial director .
Career
Gilch completed his studies as a qualified farmer. From 1956 to 1965 he was director of the state agricultural school in Schönbrunn . During this time, the agricultural machinery school was established in 1957 and the 30-hectare fruit-growing teaching facility in Deutenkofen was acquired. In 1960 the Higher Agricultural School was converted into an engineering school for agriculture with a six-semester course, the cattle husbandry and milking school was built, and the teaching material and the poultry house were rebuilt.
In 1965 he moved to the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forests , where he retired in 1980 with the rank of ministerial director .
He remained associated with the school in Schönbrunn as honorary managing director of the alumni association and was made an honorary member.
