Deutenkofen is a part of the municipality of Adlkofen in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut .

Deutenkofen is located about one kilometer north of Adlkofen in the Isar-Inn hill country .

history

Deutenkofen 864 is mentioned in a document as "Dentinchoba". The church was built in 1444. Dr. Augustin Paumgartner, Chancellor of the Bavarian Duke, was the owner of Hofmark Deutenkofen in the 16th century . He built the castle but never lived in it. He lived in the Papenbergerhaus in Landshut . He died in 1599. In 1729, Baron Sigmund von Hegnenberg Dux acquired the Deutenkofen Hofmark through marriage. Deutenkofen was the seat of power with a court until 1848. In the course of the revolution of 1848 , the manor was dissolved. With this, Hofmark Deutenkofen lost its independence. The places Weiher, Mühlmann, Kalteneck, Brunn and Blumberg belonged to Deutenkofen at that time. In 1971 Deutenkofen became part of the municipality of Adlkofen as part of the regional reform .

In February 1945, 100 refugees from a nursing home in Tormersdorf in Lower Silesia had arrived in Adlkofen and Deutenkofen , 67 of whom found their final resting place in Adlkofen, where a memorial stone commemorates them.

economy

Since 1957, the district of Niederbayern has maintained the teaching and model operation for fruit growing in the Deutenkofen district, which has been run by the State Horticultural Training and Research Institute Freising-Weihenstephan since 1950. This is affiliated with the Landshut-Schönbrunn Agricultural Education Center. There are around 18,000 trees on 22 hectares. 550 types of native fruit are cultivated.

There used to be a brewery too. Of this, however, only a ruin is left.

Catholic Church Conversion of Saint Paul

This hall church is a late Gothic complex, the construction of which was started around 1444 by the Hereditary Marshal in Bavaria Caspar I. Pfäffinger and his wife Elisabeth Pfaffinger. The dome tower and the attached sacristy are baroque in style. The interior of the church was probably redesigned in Baroque style around 1730. The high altar dates from this time. With the scene of a celestial phenomenon in front of the gates of Damascus it depicts the conversion of the persecutor of Christ Saul and has a late Gothic group of shrines rich in figures. It is structured by pilaster strips and a roof frieze on the choir .

The church is owned by the Lower Bavaria district . In the Landshut district there is only one other church and in the diocese of Regensburg there are three churches with the patronage of Pauli Conversion. The other two churches are the pilgrimage church in Haader and the branch church in Hailing (Leiblfing) , both of which are located in the Straubing-Bogen district.

Deutenkofen Castle

The building is a late Renaissance building that was erected at the beginning of the 17th century. The castle has three floors and was designed in a rectangular shape with a hipped roof . The south side is characterized by two small round corner towers with an octagonal superstructure. The flanking outbuildings were built from brick with a single storey roof . The preserved buildings of the former three-wing farm yard (north and east wing) were also made of brick with a gable roof. Outbuildings like the farm yard are from the 18th and 19th centuries. Kastanienallee (repealed on March 20, 2014)

By ordinance of the Landshut District Office of March 19, 2014, the "Kastanienallee" natural monument, which had existed since October 22, 1937, was repealed. Today it is part of the natural monument "Schlosspark Deutenkofen".

Deutenkofen Castle Park

With the ordinance of the Landshut District Office of March 19, 2014, the tree population in the southern part of the Deutenkofen Castle Park, together with the castle avenue, which has been a natural monument since 1937, was declared a natural monument as "Deutenkofen Castle Park". A closed ensemble of trees and trees is protected, consisting of chestnut, black walnut and hornbeam, among other things. The area covers around 1.05 hectares.
