Günzkofen is a part of the municipality of Adlkofen in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut .

Günzkofen is located about two kilometers southeast of Adlkofen in the Isar-Inn hill country .

history

In 1011 the place was mentioned in a document as Gunzinchovun. It was created as a clearing site. From 1687 to 1803 the so-called henchman's office existed in Adlkofen, which was headed by an official of the Teisbach district court, who exercised judicial functions over all people who were not subjects of a court lord. He was under the chairman machinations Günzkofen. In 1812 the political communities emerged from these old administrative units. There was a small Hofmark in Günzkofen.

Catholic Church of St. James

The branch church of the Adlkofen parish is a hall church . It was built in late Gothic style in 1508 . In a severe storm in 1722 it was severely damaged. At the urging of the lord of the royal court, Count von Seyboldsdorf, it was rebuilt 23 years later and redesigned in baroque style by 1748 . Since 1848 it has had a stair tower with a pointed helmet built by the Landshut master builder Bernlochner . It is located in the center and namesake of a local street (Kirchstraße).

The Günzkofen volunteer fire brigade was part of the Adlkofen volunteer fire brigade until 1977 as the Günzkofen extinguishing group, from which it was detached in 1978.
