Dechantsreit is a part of the municipality of Adlkofen in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . The hamlet is about five kilometers south-east of Adlkofen and can be reached via the LA 3 district road .

At the end of the regional reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978, parts of the former municipality of Dietelskirchen were reclassified to the neighboring municipality of Adlkofen to the west, including Dechantsreit.
