history
Around 1300 Zaitzkofen is mentioned in the Urbar , a list of properties of the Duke of Bavaria as a fief together with the "blacksmith of Zaitzkofen", the oldest blacksmith in a wide area. The smithy primarily served the residents of Zaitzkofen and visitors from Wolfstein. The church of Martin of Tours came from an older time . It is believed that it was an own church of the largest court. It was demolished during the Enlightenment in Bavaria in the second half of the 18th century. On February 25, 1784, the electoral government in Landshut requested the district judge of Teisbach to "demolish" the church immediately. In the autumn of that year, Bishop Anton Ignaz Graf von Fugger decreed that the well-founded church services (anniversaries for which a fortune had been invested) in the parish church in Adlkofen should be celebrated, the picture of the patron saint Martin and the other works of art should be taken there and the proceeds from the sale of the parish foundation And a cross is erected at the place where the church had previously stood. The resistance that had formed against the demolition in the peasantry could not prevent the pastor Hofbauer from pushing ahead and completing the demolition. Until the abolition of the manorial rule in 1848, Zaitzkofen and two neighboring large farms in Pöfflkofen belonged to the Wittelsbach family .

With the German municipal code of 1934, these assets were added to the municipality of Wolfsbach and with the territorial reform in 1974 passed into the assets of the municipality of Adlkofen.
