history

Philipp Apian , professor of mathematics at the University of Ingolstadt , drew his famous "Bavarian country tables" for Duke Albrecht V in 1560. Läuterkofen was noted as a place with a church. In the course of the Enlightenment in Bavaria in 1785 the idea of ​​giving up and breaking off St. Stephan Läuterkofen arose. This plan was not implemented.

Catholic Church of St. Stephen

The adjoining church of the Adlkofen parish is a hall church . The originally Gothic complex was changed to Baroque style in the 18th century . A short tower with a pointed helmet is located above the west gable. The two bells date from the 15th century.

On June 7, 1722, she was the victim of a storm. Pastor Ulrich Deibl von Adlkofen had it restored in the baroque style. After parts of the ceiling fell due to subsidence, it had to be renovated and was reopened on October 9, 2005.
