Alfred Groebler

Alfred Gröbler (born March 23, 1865 in Aschersleben ; † August 24, 1926 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German coal and steel industrialist and from 1912 to 1926 chairman of the board of Buderus AG .

Live and act

Gröbler attended the Stephaneum in Aschersleben and then studied mining in Clausthal, Berlin and Hanover. In Hanover became a member of the Corps Saxonia . From 1893 he headed in Sondershausen the potash plant Glückauf Sondershausen and was 1897 Bergrat . From 1901 Alfred Gröbler was General Director of the Kaliwerke Salzdetfurth and finally, from January 1, 1912 until his death, Chairman of the Board of Buderus in Wetzlar .

In addition, Gröbler was President of the Wetzlar Chamber of Commerce and Industry . The TH Darmstadt awarded Alfred Gröbler an honorary doctorate as Dr.-Ing. anyway around 1920/1921. He was also a member of the Rhenish Provincial Parliament and a member of the Wetzlar district council . Groebler was married to Margarete Rohde and was finally buried in Gießen .
