career

In the 1949/50 season, the "lion" from Tiergarten, Minerva 93, from the Berlin district league succeeded in advancing to the city league. In the first year of the contract league , 1950/51 , the team of coach Paul Böhm came in ninth place and the all-rounder - he ran as a right defender as well as in attack - "Mäcki" Herrmann had completed 20 games. With coach Paul Gehlhaar Minerva played in the 1951/52 round of the Berlin State Cup up to the semi-finals, but in the league they fought to stay up. Again Herrmann came to 20 missions. The round 1952/53 opened "Mäcki" Herrmann in the first five league games in defense, then he moved forward in the attack to Heinz Eckstein and Helmut Tschap . When Hertha BSC was beaten 4-0 in the domestic Post Stadium on December 14, 1952 , he scored three goals as a half right. At the end of the round he had scored 17 goals in 24 games and thus conquered the top scorer in Berlin. During this phase he also distinguished himself as a goalscorer in the Berlin city selection. On December 21, 1952 he scored the 1-1 equalizer in the 61st minute of the game in the encounter against Stockholm and on April 27, 1953 he shot Berlin 2-0 in the 51st minute in front of 70,000 spectators in the Olympic Stadium against Paris Guide. In the year of the soccer world championship 1954 in Switzerland he confirmed his scoring qualities with 15 goals and celebrated the runner-up with Minerva in Berlin. For the second runner-up in the 1955/56 round, he contributed eight goals in 16 games. After the round in 1957/58, he said goodbye after 135 city league games with 46 goals from Minerva 93 and moved to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin.

In two rounds, Alfred Herrmann completed 44 city league games with four goals for Blau-Weiß 90 from 1958 to 1960 and then ended his higher-class career.
