Paul Boehm
Paul Böhm (* 1959 in Cologne ) is a German architect . He is the youngest of four sons of Gottfried Böhm and a grandson of Dominikus Böhm .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1980, Böhm worked for two years in the Munich landscape architecture firm Gottfried Hansjakob and then studied architecture at the technical universities in Berlin and Vienna until 1990. In 1990 he worked for Bernhard Strecker and Jürgen Eckhardt, and in 1991 at Richard Meier in New York. He then worked as an employee in the Böhm office, which at the time was managed by partners Stephan and Peter Böhm in addition to his father . In 1997 he became a partner. In 2001 he started his own business. Many of his orders are based on success in competitions. In 2006 he and his office won the competition announced by the Turkish-Islamic Union (DITIB) for the construction of the Central Mosque in Cologne .
He is professor at the Institute for Design-Construction-Building Theory and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the TH Köln . Since the end of 2012 he has been a board member at Haus der Architektur Cologne .
