Alfred Jäger (rower)
Alfred Jäger (* 1873 or 1874; † October 2, 1960 ) was a German rower .
Live and act
Alfred Jäger started for the Academic Rowing Club Berlin-Grünau (ARV). In 1896 he was delegated to the Summer Olympics with Berthold Küttner in a double scull.
The rowing competitions were scheduled for April 13th in the port of Piraeus . Since the competition from Greece and Italy did not start due to the weather conditions, Berthold Küttner and Alfred Jäger were presented with the bronze medal by Prince Georg of Greece , President of the Olympic Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee for Nautical Sports.
Then Berthold Küttner and Alfred Jäger went to the cycling track, where they acted as pacemakers in the 12-hour race for the eventual winner Adolf Schmal .

- ↑ At the Olympic Summer Games in 1896, silver medals were awarded for the winner and bronze medals for the runner-up, but Küttner and Jäger received a "bronze winner's medal".
