Alfred Mock

Alfred Mock OMI (born May 17, 1908 in Kalteneber ; † June 19, 2006 in Hünfeld ) was a Catholic religious priest and professor of philosophy .

Life

Mock was born in Kalteneber, a district of Heiligenstadt in Eichsfeld, Thuringia, as the youngest of nine children. After graduating from high school in 1928, Mock became a novice with the Oblate Missionaries (Oblati Mariae Immaculatae) in the Maria Engelport Monastery . He studied in the mother house of the German Oblates in Hünfeld and in Rome . In 1932 he made his perpetual vows there, and in 1934 he was ordained a priest in Rome. In 1935 he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD . During the time of National Socialism he was a philosophy professor from 1935 to 1941, later as a priest in various Thuringian communities and from 1968 again philosophy professor at the Hünfeld University .
