Alfred Ott (born June 19, 1934 in Rheinbrohl ; † March 21, 2020 in Neuwied ) was a German football referee . Between 1960 and 1970 he headed 80 games in the Bundesliga and 6 games each for the German soccer championship and the DFB Cup . Between 1968 and 1970 he was a FIFA referee.

Games

He directed his first game in the Bundesliga on August 24, 1963 in Werder Bremen's 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund . He whistled for the game at 4:58 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. and made this match actually the first match in the new Bundesliga. Before the introduction of the Bundesliga, he already whistled six games for the German soccer championship ; his first game here was on May 21, 1960 between Tasmania Berlin and Werder Bremen (2-1). His last appearance in the Bundesliga was on October 27, 1970 in the game between Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen (0-1). In his 80 Bundesliga games, he awarded the red card three times . Most often he led games at Borussia Dortmund , 18 times.
