Alfred Schneider (born June 9, 1895 in Breslau ; † July 16, 1968 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1947 to 1962 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After elementary school , Alfred Schneider trained as a stone printer at a craft and trade school .

He had been a union member since 1912 and joined the SPD in 1914. From 1918 to 1933 Schneider was active as an SPD functionary in Münster and Breslau . In Breslau he was a member of the local executive committee of the SPD from 1928 to 1933. In addition, from 1924 to 1933 he was department head in the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . During the time of the National Socialist dictatorship , Schneider was in the resistance. In 1946 he was expelled from the Soviet occupation zone . In the west, Schneider became a member of the SPD district board of Soest and a board member of the SPD sub-district of Hamm .

Schneider was a city ​​councilor in Wroclaw from 1932 to 1933 and after 1956 a member of the Soest district council .

He was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from the first to the fourth electoral period via the state list of the SPD. Schneider was a member of parliament from April 20, 1947 to July 20, 1962. In the state parliament he was from July 16 to 8. October 1947 Chairman of the Refugee Committee, and from October 24, 1950 to July 20, 1962 its Deputy Chairman.
