Björn Christen (born April 5, 1980 in Bern ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who was under contract with EV Zug , HC Davos and SC Bern in the Swiss National League A for many years .
Career
Björn Christen began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth team of SC Bern , for whose professional team he made his debut in the national league A in the 1996/97 season , and with whom he became Swiss champion in his rookie year . After five years, the attacker left Bern in 2001 and switched to their league rivals HC Davos . With the Davos team, he won the Spengler Cup in 2001 and 2004 , and the Swiss championship again in 2002 and 2005. In the summer of 2006, Christen moved to EV Zug , for whom he played until 2015. At the end of the 2014/15 season he ended his career in order to work as an auditor in the insurance industry.
International
For Switzerland , Christen took part in the U18 Junior European Championships in 1997 and 1998 , as well as the U20 Junior World Championships in 1997 , 1998 , 1999 and 2000 . He was also part of the Swiss squad at the 2002 , 2003 and 2010 World Championships , as well as the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City .
