Alfred Schwendtner

Alfred Schwendtner (born February 26, 1939 ; † March 15, 2011 in Augsburg ) was a German architect .

Life

As a freelance architect, Schwendtner was mainly active in Augsburg and Upper Swabia in the construction of public buildings, for example in the construction of the St. Ulrich church center in Dillingen an der Donau or the parish hall in Donauwörth .

From 1975 he was for 30 years chairman of the Professional Association of Architects and Engineers (BAI) and more than 20 years as a member of the representative assembly of the Chamber of Architects of Bavaria . Since 1988 he has also been a member of the city of Augsburg's architectural advisory board and has been its chairman since 2000. In addition, he was active in other professional bodies, including the regional committee of the Bavarian architects' supply, the contact group Augsburger Architekten, the Bund Deutscher Baumeister as well as the support group for the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences .

Schwendtner was an honorary member of the K.St.V. Ludovicia Augsburg, on whose behalf he converted a listed residential building in Augsburg's old town into a student residence in 1984.
