Alfred Sommer (politician, 1925)

Alfred Sommer (born July 12, 1925 in Nuremberg ; † March 3, 2006 ibid) was a German SPD politician .

After attending elementary school, Sommer completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter . During World War II he was used as a volunteer in the Soviet Union and France . On April 1, 1945 he was wounded in Lippstadt . He then sat for a few months as a prisoner of war in the United States , from which he was released at the end of the year. He returned to his hometown and worked there as a locksmith at MAN . On September 1, 1946, he moved to the Nuremberg City Police, where he worked from May 14, 1956 on in the murder commission of the criminal investigation department. Sommer, who joined the SPD in 1945, was elected to the Nuremberg city council in 1960 and 1966. From 1966 to 1982 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament ; At times he was elected to these via a direct mandate. For several years he was also a deputy, non-professional member of the Bavarian Constitutional Court .
