Alfred Stroppel

Alfred Stroppel (born July 22, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German engineer and agricultural scientist, particularly in agricultural engineering, he was a professor of process engineering in plant production at the Institute for Agricultural Engineering at the University of Hohenheim .

Live and act

After graduating from the Gaußschule in Braunschweig, Stroppel studied mechanical engineering, specializing in agricultural machinery, at the TU Braunschweig. From 1960 to 1967 he was a research engineer and senior engineer at the Institute for Agricultural Machinery at the TU Braunschweig . In 1067 he received his doctorate. Ing. At the same university in Braunschweig .

From 1967 to 1968 Stroppel was development engineer at Speiser in Göppingen and from 1968 to 1973 department manager at Fendt in Marktoberdorf . In 1973 Stroppel was appointed professor to the chair for process engineering in plant production at the Institute for Agricultural Engineering at the University of Hohenheim.

As part of the technology transfer project Baden-Württemberg , Stroppel was on leave as managing director for the development division of the tractor company X. Fendt & Co. In 1990 Stroppel returned to the chair at the University of Hohenheim and retired in 1996.

Stroppel held the following positions in Hohenheim: 1983/1990/1991 Managing Director of the Institute for Agricultural Engineering; 1991–1994 Dean of Faculty IV (Agricultural Sciences II); Member of the Senate; Senate representative for the partnerships with Agrar-Univ. Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Agricultural Engineering Univ. Moscow; Assistance in the reconstruction of East German agricultural engineering institutes: Institute for Agricultural Engineering in Potsdam-Bornim , Institute for Agricultural Engineering at TU Dresden
