Alfredo Mazzone

Alfredo Mazzone (* 1921 in Vizzini ; † January 14, 1989 in Catania ) was an Italian dramaturge and director .

Mazzone achieved some fame in 1972 when he performed Giovanni Verga's works in the open air with Reppresentazioni verghiane ; the first piece produced in this way was L'amante di Gramignia . He worked in this position until 1987 and with his productions blurred and disappeared the boundaries between actors and audience. Under his direction, u. a. Arnoldo Foà , Regina Bianchi , Turi Ferrio and Orso Maria Guerrini .

In 1974 he directed the rarely shown Quando la carne urla for the cinema .
