After the closure of the Magirus-Deutz bus plant in Mainz in 1982, Alga bought out the remaining parts and chassis, which were later assembled into finished buses. For example, the last two copies of the articulated bus 260SH170 were built at Alga in 1984.

On the evening of December 10, 2018, a major fire completely destroyed the office buildings and the workshop halls of the Alga subsidiary TBS Truck Bus Services. The company announced the following day that it would rebuild the affected area.

Mobile utility vehicle museum

The company owned a "mobile vehicle museum" with exhibits from over 100 past brands of German and European commercial vehicle construction from the period from 1890 to the present day. The exhibits included trucks from the former manufacturers Büssing , Faun , Hanomag , Henschel , Kaelble , Krupp and Magirus-Deutz , such as a Henschel L6J1 from 1939, a Magirus M40 from the same year and a single piece of a turntable ladder on a Krupp Tiger chassis . In addition, trailers , construction machinery and fire engines were presented. Significant parts of the museum came from the private collection of Emil Bölling from Castrop-Rauxel , who went bankrupt when a large mine was demolished. Horst Gassmann saved the collection and brought it to ALGA in Sittensen. Emil Bölling died on February 16, 2015 at the age of 83. The museum was then closed. The exhibition was housed in the Alga buildings. Alga took part in commercial vehicle meetings with drivable specimens . All classic cars have been part of the PS store since July 2015 .
