The Alga Lake (English for Algensee ) is a small, oval lake on the East Antarctic George V coast . It is east of Round Lake and Long Lake , west of Beryl Hill and around 360 m east-southeast of the largest of the Mawson's Huts on Cape Denison .
The Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson named him during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914). The official recognition of this designation took place on March 7, 1991 by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia .
