history

Algertshausen is first mentioned in 1223 as Alchishusen , the place name is derived from the personal name Alahgis.

In 1275, Algertshausen is listed in a property register of Ludwig des Strengen .

Algertshausen belonged to the Hofmark Greifenberg and in 1671 two half farms are mentioned in a tax book.

In the years 1812-18 the farmer Sedlmayr built a chapel, but in 1828 the license to measure was revoked. A few years later, the two farms were merged again and sold to the Augustinum Group in 1968 . This initially ran an agricultural business, which was given up in 1992. Since then, the desert, which was almost completely rebuilt in 1971, has served as a conference center and hotel .
