Algirdas Šeškus

Algirdas Šeškus (born December 4, 1945 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian photographer .

life and work

Algirdas Šeškus studied at the Vilnius Art Academy from 1968 to 1970 . He completed a cinematography course in Moscow and worked for the broadcasting company Lietuvos nacionalinis radijas ir televizija from 1979 until the end of his professional career . As a photo artist, he took part for the first time in an exhibition in Vilnius organized by the Union of Lithuanian Art Photographers. Šeškus has a documentary approach. His photos show scenes from everyday Soviet life. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Union of Lithuanian Art Photographers . In 2014 Šeškus was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts .
