Algis Kašėta
Algis Kašėta (born December 20, 1962 in Mergežeris near Varėna ) is a Lithuanian politician, since 2015 mayor of the Rajongemeinde Varėna , formerly a member of the Seimas , Parliamentary Vice-President (2008-2011).
Life
From 1969 to 1972 he studied at the Mergežeris Elementary School and from 1972 to 1978 at the 1st Varėna Middle School . After graduating from secondary school in 1980, he studied at the Vilnius technical vocational school from 1980 to 1981 . From 1982 to 1984 he served in the Soviet Army. In 1991 he graduated from the Vilniaus valstybinis universitetas with a degree in history . From 1996 to 2015 he was a member of the Seimas .
From 1988 he was a member of Sąjūdis , from 1994 to 1999 of Lietuvos krikščionių Demokratieų partija , from 2000 to 2003 Moderniųjų krikščionių Demokratieų sąjunga (Deputy Chairman), from 2003 to 2005 of Liberalų ir centro sąjunga , from 2006 of Lietuvos liberalų sąjūdis .
He is married. With Mrs. Ramunė he has the children Rokas, Motiejus, Saulė and Algirdas.
