Ali İhsan Karayiğit (born January 1, 1928 in Salihli , Turkey , † March 18, 2013 ) was a Turkish football player , coach and official. For Beşiktaş Istanbul he is one of the unforgettable footballers. He played there as a Libero or Vorstopper.

Player career

During his school days he played for his school team. At a school tournament in Manisa in the 1940s, a lot of talent scouts came from renowned clubs. There Ali İhsan was discovered by Beşiktaş Istanbul.

He played for the club from 1950 to 1959. He won various championships with the club. He then got the chance to play in the Turkish national team. Ali İhsan has played 11 games for Turkey. During the World Cup preparations in 1954, he was also included.

Coaching career

After Ali İhsan ended his career as a footballer in 1959, he was appointed to the board. He got involved intensively in the team and particularly excelled in youth work. Ali İhsan also achieved successes as a youth coach and assistant coach, which are documented by championship titles for the team.
