Songze culture
The Songze culture (Chinese Sōngzé wénhuà 崧 泽 文化) was a Neolithic culture in China . It is named after the Songze site (Sōngzé yízhǐ 崧 泽 遗址 Songze site) in Qingpu , Shanghai , which was excavated in 1960.
Its time falls between the years 3900 to 3200 BC. It was mainly in the area of Lake Tai Hu太湖 in the area of the lower Yangtze River . Rice cultivation played a major role in economic life. Stone artifacts (jade) and pottery products were discovered.
Sites
Other sites with relics of the Songze culture in Qingpu include the Fuquanshan site , the Jinshan tomb and the Shiqianchun site .
