Laoguantai culture
The Laoguantai culture (Lǎoguāntái wénhuà 老官 台 文化 Laoguantai Culture; also known as the Dadiwan-I culture ) provides the earliest Neolithic relics in Shaanxi , it is dated from 6000 to 5000 BC. Dated.
The Laoguantai site is named after the Laoguantai site in Hua County (“Huaxian”) in the Chinese province of Shaanxi from 1955. It is the earliest Neolithic culture in the catchment area of the Wei River ( Wei He or Wei Shui ) in Shaanxi. The three main characteristics that distinguish the Neolithic culture from the Paleolithic culture are its polished stone utensils , the invention of pottery and settlement, and primitive agriculture. The polished stone implements show that survival relied not only on gathering and hunting, but also on simple forms of agriculture.
