Huazhou (Weinan)

Huazhou ( Chinese  华 州 区 , Pinyin Huàzhōu Qū , formerly Hua (华县, Huà Xiàn )) is a Chinese municipality in the district-free city of Weinan in Shaanxi Province . At the end of 2012, Huazhou had a registered population of 350,800 and a resident population of 324,300.

Huazhou is located in the eastern part of the Qin Ling mountain range and on the south bank of the Wei He River . It is mountainous in the south, with the Hua Shan one of the sacred mountains of China and on the Wei River in the north; in between there is alluvial land from loess . In the Huazhou area, there are various rivers that flow into the Wei River, including Chishui He , Yuxian He , Shiti He , Luowen He , Gouyu He . The Wenyu He and the Haopingchuan He first flow into the Northern Luo Hewhich in turn is a tributary of the Wei He.

Huazhou has a temperate continental climate with an average annual temperature of 13.4 ° C and annual rainfall averaging 586.1 mm.

Huazhou has deposits of molybdenum , gold , silver , iron and granite . In terms of transport, it is opened up by the Longhai Railway , the Lianyungang – Khorgas motorway and the 310 national road; all three lead in a west-east direction through the city district.

In the district are the Neolithic sites of Yuanjunmiao and Quanhucun (元君 庙 - 泉 护 村 遗址, Yuánjūnmiào - Quánhùcūn yízhǐ ), the Neolithic to Shang- era Nansha site , the Qiaoshangqiao bridges (桥上 桥, Qiáoshàng ) from the of the Qing Dynasty , and the site of the Wei Hua Uprising (渭 华 起义 旧址, Wèi-Huá qǐyì jiùzhǐ ) of 1928, which are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

In addition, the tomb of Duke Huan of Zheng , the ancestral temple and Pailou of Tang general Gou Ziyi , the shrine to Li Yuanliang , the Yunkongzhi pagoda from the northern Song Dynasty , the Chanxiu temple and Temple of literature from the Yuan Dynasty , the Chishui Bridge , the Hua Shan and the nearby Qianlong Temple are important cultural monuments of the district.

The epicenter of the earthquake in Shaanxi , which claimed more than 800,000 deaths in 1556, and was the earthquake with the highest known number of victims in the world, was in Hua County .

Administrative structure

At the community level, the district of Hua consists of a street district and nine large communities . These are:

  • Greater community Xiamiao (下庙镇).

The district's seat of government is located in Huazhou Street.
