Alice Schorbach

Karin Alice Schorbach (* 1940 in Kassel as Karin Alice Kochs ) is a German artist .

Life

Schorbach was born in Kassel and studied at the Ontario Institute of Art in Toronto . In 1961 she moved to Cologne and lived there for a decade. She exhibited in the avant-garde gallery Siebrasse in Cologne . During her time in Cologne, she made works of wood , metal , cement and plastic and did her own art events . In 1970 she moved to Amsterdam. In 1976 she received the Europe Prize for Painting in Ostend . In 1977 she took part in documenta 6 in Kassel with book objects . The book objects soft story , big purple story , and Knüll-Book from 1969 were exhibited.

Alice Schorbach's works consist of geometric-abstract installation objects, which she combines from canvases of different sizes mounted on wooden frames, which she only paints sparsely.

Alice Schorbach lives and works in Amsterdam , the Netherlands .
