Alien Ant Farm (short: AAF) is an American alternative rock - band . It was in 1995 Riverside ( California founded).

Band history

Alien Ant Farm recorded their first demo in 1996 , the $ 100 EP , followed two years later (1998) by another demo called Love Songs . They only appeared in clubs for three years before they finally recorded their LP debut Greatest Hits , which was named Best Independent Album in 1999 .

Alien Ant Farm has a deep friendship with the metal rock band Papa Roach , both bands promote each other during their performances. Alien Ant Farm were also the first signing of the Papa Roach label New Noize . Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix brought her to Dreamworks / Universal , where her first major label album, ANThology, was released in 2001 , which reached number 11 in the US charts. Their big breakthrough came with their cover of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal , with which they reached number 3 on the UK singles charts. With the successor single Movies , they then reached fifth place.

In 2005 the band, which had since split from Terry Corso (new guitarist Joe Hill), recorded a new album called 3rd Draft . This was not published for the time being, because there were differences with the record label Geffen Records . In the meantime, however , Alien Ant Farm have switched to Universal Music and 3rd Draft was released under the name Up in the Attic .

In February 2008 the band announced that they had resolved their disputes and were back to playing with the original line-up. In February 2015, after nine years, the new album "Always and Forever" was presented.

The band currently consists of the members Dryden Mitchell, Terry Corso, Tim Peugh (formerly Valora, Mystery Schools) and Mike Cosgrove. Tye Zamora focuses on background projects.
