Alina Baraz ( Russian Алина Бараз ; born September 24, 1993 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American singer and songwriter .

Life

Baraz is the daughter of Russian parents and the first of her siblings to be born in the United States. She attended Mayfield High School.

In 2015 the first EP Urban Flora was released on the Ultra Records label . The EP reached number 111 on the US album charts . Baraz switched to the Mom + Pop Music label and released the album The Color of You in 2018 . The album made it to number 59 on the charts.

On May 5, 2020, the second studio album, It Was Divine, was due to be released as a debut album on the Mom + Pop Music label , but the album's release was postponed to April 24, 2020 a week earlier.
