Alina Sergejewna Gridnewa ( Russian Алина Сергеевна Гриднева ; born March 2, 1992 in Armavir ) is a Russian freestyle skier . She starts in the discipline Aerials (jumping) .

Career

Gridnewa started for the first time in February 2010 in the European Cup in Minsk and finished seventh and tenth. In March 2011 she reached her first podium in the European Cup in Poliarnie Zori with two second places. She made her World Cup debut in January 2012 in Lake Placid , which she finished in tenth place. At the 2013 World Championships in Voss , she achieved 13th place. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season she won her first European Cup in Ruka . In the further course of the season she was in the top ten four times in six World Cup competitions. In February 2016 she won her only World Cup victory in Moscow and at the end of the season she finished third in the Aerials discipline.

Gridnewa has taken part in 15 World Cups so far and made it into the top ten eight times. So far, she has achieved three podium finishes in the European Cup, including one victory (as of the end of the 2015/16 season).
