Allée couverte by Dampont

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allée couverte by Dampont comes from the village of Us and is now on the grounds of the Tavet-Delacour Museum in Pontoise in the Val-d'Oise department in France .

The gallery grave , which was not very long at about 8.0 meters and was originally deepened , with an antechamber in the northwest, consisted of eleven, partly very large lateral bearing stones and the two end plates. Then there are the plates of the antechamber. While individual side stones are missing or have been supplemented by concrete, the ceiling construction is completely missing. What is interesting about the system is the extremely rare rectangular instead of round soul hole .

Nearby is the Allée couverte du Cimetière aux Anglais , another gallery tomb and the menhir Grande Pierre de Jouy .
